Description: You’ve been told over and over – there will be mass retirements and you need to start workforce planning. But what is workforce planning? Workforce planning is commonly defined as “Having the right number of people with the right skills, experiences, and competencies, in the right jobs, at the right time.”
Once you know what workforce planning is, you may still need help learning how to get the process started. The State Personnel Board offers a class on workforce planning, where participants will have an opportunity to become familiar with various models of workforce planning and determine the plan elements best suited for their organization.
